About St Dominics Residential Home

Our Home was originally built for the Nuns of the Dominican Order in the grounds of their Convent and over the years it achieved an enviable reputation for care and commitment.  In 1994 the home was acquired by St Dominics Residential Home Limited, which has maintained the philosophy, standards and traditions forged by the nuns and will continue to do so.

Admission to St Dominics

St Dominics enables older people from our socially diverse community to continue living as independently as possible by receiving care and support consistent with their incapacities and disabilities. When residents require higher levels of care and support, we are able to respond.

We continue to value each and every individual who comes to live at St Dominics and we welcome applications from people from all walks of life and with many different needs who enjoy the opportunity to share and celebrate the richness and diversity of their experience.   All resident are assured that they will be treated with respect and dignity according to their individual needs and wishes.

People who enquire about our Home are provided with a full information pack.   All enquirers are encouraged to visit the Home before continuing with their application. They may then apply directly for a place at St Dominics. All residents are required to undergo an assessment to ensure we are able to meet their care needs. Enquiries from Social Services assisted clients will need to complete an assessment for their care needs and their financial circumstances with the relevant local authority prior to our assessment process.

The Home’s management team give each application very careful consideration and will carry out a home visit or meet with the potential resident and their family at St Dominics to ascertain their interests and all their care needs, so as to ensure that we can completely meet their requirements.
