Activities
We endeavour to have a programme which caters for everybody’s interests including musical entertainment, bingo, quizzes, outings to places of interest and handicrafts etc – these are arranged by our Activities Co-ordinator. Residents are encouraged to pursue their own hobbies wherever possible.

Additional Facilities (note: additional cost)
At St Dominics a hairdresser attends each week and we will arrange manicure, chiropody, reflexology and any other facility which you may reasonably need.   In addition, facilities will be provided for religious visits and counselling, and for private meetings.

Commission For Social Care Inspection
Our governing body CSCI holds regular inspections.  We were inspected during May 2008 and received an   
' Excellent 3-Star ' rating.  Please view their latest report

Miscellaneous

Fees
Our fees are reviewed annually and are all inclusive except for personal toiletries, hairdressing, chiropody and reflexology.

Please note, we are able to advise on what assistance, if any, will be available from Social Services.

Short Stays
St Dominics is one of the few homes who welcome respite and short term stays.

Religion
We are inter-denominational. Residents are encouraged to visit the church of their choice or to be visited by their minister.   We have regular services for Church of England, Free Church and Roman Catholic.

Liaison
We have regular meetings when staff and residents to discuss all aspects of life at St Dominics.

Medical
You may use your own GP or we will make other satisfactory arrangements for you.

Telephones
All rooms have their own telephone point and there are facilities where calls may be made and received with privacy, a phone can be installed in your room upon request.

Smoking
There is a no smoking policy throughout the home.   A smoking room, separate from the home, is available for residents’ use.

Valuables
For their peace of mind residents are requested not to have a large sum of money or valuable private effects at St Dominics.

Laundry
We have our own Laundry which is in use daily. Special care is taken with all kinds of fabrics.

Visiting
Relatives and friends are always welcome at convenient hours.
