We are inspected by the Care Quality Commission. In our latest Service Review we received a 3 star Excellent rating. Please request to view our most recent report or view it from this link Other regulatory bodies also carry out inspections, namely Environmental Health (from whom we received their highest 4 star award), Social Services, and the Fire Department, all of whose requirements we fully comply with as evidenced by the reports following regular inspections.

Fees
Our fees are reviewed annually and are all inclusive except for personal toiletries,
hairdressing, chiropody and reflexology fees.
Please note, we are able to advise on
what assistance, if any, will be available from Social Services.

St Dominics is one of the few Essex homes who welcome respite and short term stays when availability permits.

We have regular meetings with staff and residents to discuss all aspects
of life at St Dominics.
Medical
A resident may use their own GP or we will make arrangements with a doctor
with whom we have a long standing relationship.
St Dominics is supported by specialist nursing services including District Nursing Services, Parkinson Services, Stroke Specialist Services, Falls Monitoring Service and Speech and Language Services.
Telephones
All rooms have their own telephone point. Should a resident request to
have a telephone installed in their room please inform the Home as this can be accommodated,
but it is for the resident/family to arrange, at their cost, with BT or equivalent,
using the room number as a reference. We do provide a mobile telephone for families/friends
to ring in on and speak to a resident and this can be taken to wherever the resident
is within the home. The number is available upon request.
Smoking
There is a no smoking policy throughout the Home but a smoking room, separate
from the Home, is available for residents’ use.
Valuables
For their peace of mind residents are requested not to keep a large sum
of money or valuable private effects at St Dominics. We do have a safe and if required
our Administrator can hold a Cash Account for a resident.
Laundry
We have our own Laundry which is in use daily. Special care is taken with
all kinds of fabrics. Residents are requested to name all items of clothing either
with a laundry marker or labels.
Visiting
Relatives and friends of residents are always welcomed to the Home.
Parking
We have ample parking facilities.
Own Possessions
Residents are welcome to bring their own pictures and ornaments and if practicable small items of furniture.
Computer Facilities
We have computer facilities and internet services that the residents can make use of, which include Skype, which has enabled residents to keep in touch with far reaching relatives and take part in family celebrations.
